Codes and Standards
Although the National Building Code of Canada sets the standard for residential construction in this country, provinces have the right to make amendments to it when they introduce their own provincial building codes. Although new national and provincial codes are only released every few years, construction standards are constantly evolving through technical amendments and best practices.
We plan to keep you updated by linking you to provincial code websites when changes are announced. We'll also let you know in our News section and on this page when there's new information from each province.
